In high school, my favorite teacher would have to be Mr. Garzone. He was my biology and human anatomy teacher. I remember in human anatomy, most of the class was seniors and they took their final exam before three juniors in the class. When it came time for us juniors to take our final exam, he said, "Okay, this exam is going to be awful tough. Its open book, open notebook, and take home." He was just goofy like that and wanted to make learning easy and fun. He felt it was better to let us check out answers and make sure they were right then to make us try and guess and get them wrong. Earlier in the year after everyone had done really well in class, he decided to take us on a field trip that had nothing to do with the class. He said he felt we had earned a nice day out of the school. We went to a museum, but it was a museum of science and not necessarily something about human anatomy. Mr. Garzone was such a laid back teacher, but he would get right on your butt if you didn't try. I recently learned that Mr. Garzone had retired from teaching. I hope he has a wonderful retirement. In my opinion he earned that much.
